Sam leads our Direct Private Equity business and is responsible for building a portfolio of direct investments in private companies across North America and Europe.

Prior to joining CPP Investments in 2007, Sam worked as a management consultant at Bain & Company and in the Corporate Finance and Assurance groups at PwC.

During Sam’s tenure, he has worked on multiple private investments across industries. Currently he serves on the boards of Ascot Group and Waystar, and previously he served on the boards of Berlin Packaging, Wilton Re, The Gates Corporation and Air Distribution Technologies. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees for The Bishop Strachan School.

Sam holds a B. Comm. from McGill University and an MBA from Ivey Business School. He is a CFA Charterholder and a Chartered Professional Accountant.
